I love travel, experiencing different cultures, history, food, wine and traditions from various parts of the world that I have been fortunate enough to visit. I was born in Port Elizabeth South Africa, have lived in Johannesburg, Cape Town & London, traveled to 48 countries, and now live in my namesake city of Carlsbad, California.

I am a wine lover. (dare I say I drink too much of it). Yes, I have done many programs of wine study programs ranging from winemaking at UC Davis to WSET Diploma. But mostly, I really enjoy tasting, appeciating, attempting to figure out the wonderful compexities presented in the bottle and then sharing and drinking it with friends and family.

I'm a fanatical outdoors person who was born to Braai (BBQ), and bake fresh bread. I have spent many, many weekends, vacations and any spare time I could muster over the years, in the wild African Bush (not the grand tourist lodges) and Scuba Diving around the world. I love to share these experiences with anyone who cares to listen and contribute.
